John William McManus Jr., of Makakilo, passed away on October 13, 2023. He was born in Laferia, Texas. He honorably served in the United States Army for 23 years and retired in the rank of First Sergeant. Following his distinguished military career, he served as a Diplomat with the United States Department of State, Foreign Service for 17 years in Washington, D.C. and abroad.
He is survived by his loving wife, Consuelo; son Jeff McManus; daughters Debra Paske and Jill McManus; 8 grandchildren and 1 great granddaughter; as well as 3 brothers; Robert, James and Otto Koog.
The Homecoming Service will be held on November 17, 2023 at Borthwick Mortuary in the Mauka Chapel. Visitation is at 11:00 and the Service will be held at 12:00. Burial with full military honors will follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park at 3:00.
Hawaiian business casual or Aloha attire is recommended, and flowers are graciously welcome.
