He is survived by wife, Theresa Bowers-Rivera; sons, John Jr., Glenn (Tammie), Patrick (Christie) and Joshua Rivera; daughters, Lisa (John) Lawson and Donna Rivera; 12 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; brothers, Mike and James Rivera; hanai sister, Vivian Algarin.
Funeral services will be held at St. Jude Catholic Church, 92-455 Makakilo Drive, Kapolei, Hawaii 96707. Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. Mass will be at 10:30. Burial to follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park Cemetery, 45-425 Kamehameha Highway, Kaneohe, Hawaii 93744 at 2:00 p.m.
