Kathleen Iris Okamura

Kathleen I. Okamura, 69, of Kaneohe, daughter of Robert and Ruth, passed away peacefully on September 11, 2025. Born in Kaneohe, HI, Kathleen was a devoted mother, loving grandmother, cherished sister, beloved aunt, and loyal friend.

She is survived by her son Jason and his wife Stephanie; her three granddaughters Shalei, Syriah, and Sonya; her three siblings Robert, William, and Donna. She was preceded by her beloved brother Michael.

Kathleen lived her life surrounded by family and friends, but her greatest joy was in her grandchildren and her many nieces and nephews who kept her young at heart and in health. She was a woman of selflessness while remaining grateful and full of love. Her joyful presence welcomed anyone seeking friendship or advice.

Kathleen’s passion to travel and appreciation of the outdoors continued up until her passing as she continuously planned outings to the beach, days long hiking trips, miles long bike rides, and any event that would bring those she cared about, closer. Her energy carried conversations for what seemed like hours and welcomed those wanting a good laugh.

A celebration of Kathleen’s life will be held on September 24, 2025, at 10:00am at the Kaneohe Stake Center located at 46-117 Halaulani St., Kaneohe, HI, 96744.
