

Kenneth (Ton) Dan Lien, age 82 passed away on Monday April 13, 2026. Kenneth was born November 1st , 1943 in Bac Lieu, Vietnam, has lived in Stillwater, Minnesota, and made his home here in Honolulu, Hawaii with his wife (pre-deceased) and 7 children for the past 43 years.
A beloved Brother, Husband, Dad, Gong Gong (Grandfather), and Lao Gong (Great- Grandfather). He is survived by his son, Kevin Jason Lien; daughters, Kathy Colon, Jennifer Lien, Julie Leung, Lisa Lien, Linh Lopez, and Cindy Lien; sons-in-law, Edgar Leung, and Sean Lopez; grandchildren, Antonio Colon Jr., Annie Lien, Amanda Lien, Renei Leung, Spencer Leung, Connor Lopez, and Mila Lopez; great grandchild, Jace Colon; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and in-laws.
Kenneth will be remembered for his courage, kindness, his quiet unexpected sense of humor, and his amazing culinary skills. He was known not just for his cooking, but for his dishes, the ones no one else could quite replicate. Those meals were the kind people look forward to and talk about years later. Kenneth showed his love through food, making every gathering feel a little more meaningful. Long after the plates were cleared, what remained was the warmth he built, the traditions he shaped, and the sense of home he gave to everyone lucky enough to sit at his table.
A visitation for Kenneth will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 8:30 AM to 9:30 AM at Borthwick Mortuary Makai Chapel, 1330 Maunakea Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96817. A Buddhist Prayer Service will occur Tuesday, April 28, 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, 1330 Maunakea Street, Honolulu, Hawaii 96817. A burial will occur Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 11:30 AM at Valley of the Temples Memorial Park, 47-299 Kahekili Hwy., Kaneohe, Hawaii 96744.
