He was born gifted with music in his soul, at a young age he played for his unko Nelson, his brother Eric and the fabulous nephews at Royal Lahaina Hotel in Kaanapali Maui, after several years he moved back to Honolulu to work for Grayline Hawaii as a Tour Driver, He formed a band known as “Na Mele Kani” with his family (Walter Aipolani etc.). They had entertained at various clubs all over Oahu, other islands, and Mainland. He was a former President of Kaneohe Canoe club which he composed a song “Kaeo” for his crew and the canoe. He joined Bellows Air Force Station as maintenance engineer and retired. He was known for his “Platinum Voice” he had a great sense of humor, loved by many.
Survived By his life companion Nadine Naki and his Sunshine Jaysha Featheran-Naki,
He is also survived by sons: Ernest (Alette), Kanio (Kalei), Ikaika,
Daughters: Nohea, Skye (Victor), Brothers: Eric (Joan), Robert (Priscilla), Cranston (Katie)
Sisters: Violet (Kulukulualani), Ann (Konohia),
Grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Services will be held July 10th and 11th at Borthwick Mortuary Maunakea Chapel located at 1330 Maunakea Street in Honolulu, Hawaii. July 10th visitation will be at 5:00pm with service to follow at 7:00pm. July 11th visitation will be at 9:00am with service to follow at 11:00am.
Casual attire suggested.
