Leina'ala, 87, of Honolulu, Hawaii passed on June 27, 2021. She retired from Hawaiian Tel and was the founder and Kumu Hula of Naipo Na Mea Hula - December 2, 1990. Leina'ala was also a member of Ahahui Kaahumanu (Royal society of Native Hawaiian women) - June 1, 1987 and a member of Kamehameha Schools Alumni Association Class of 1952.
Leina'ala was predeceased by her spouse, LeRoy K. Akamine. She is survived by her children Kalama K. Akamine (Puanani Fernandez-Akamine) and Leina'ala H. (Akamine) Nakamura; siblings Rodgers Lolena Naipo Sr., Henry John Naipo, and Mapuana Mercedes Naipo; grandchild Anuhea K.P. Park (Matthew Park); and great-grandchild Arden Laakea Park.
