LEON NAVARES TAMPON, 81, of Ewa Beach, passed away April 20, 2012 in Honolulu. Born February 20, 1931 in Ewa, Hawaii, he was a retired motor pool driver at Hickam Air Force Base and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War.
He is survived by wife, Cora; sons, Lawrence Tampon, Leonard (Marianne) Tampon, Lloyd (Michelle) Tampon; daughters, Melanie (Edward) Navas and Laura Andes; brothers, Pedro Tampon and Neciforo Tampon; sisters, Nina Tampon and Clara Munalem; 11 grandchildren, Brandon, Thelma, Dustin, Alicia, Cheyne Justin, Kayla, Logan, Naomi, Kristin and Skyler; 8 great-grandchildren, Malia, Brandon, Jr., Kalima, Brayden, Karmila, Eddie Boy III, Kaipo III and Kalib;
Visitation will be from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 8, 2012, at Borthwick Mortuary-Makai Chapel; service will be at 10:30 a.m. Committal service will be at 2:00 p.m. at Hawaii State Veterans Cemetery.
