Uncle Louie, I'll miss your bright smile & the way you made everyone feel so special. You always lifted our spirts  when we were feeling low. We had lots of adventures & laughs, and being around you always brought out the best in me. Your service to our country is inspiring. Your Can Do Spirit never ending, and only it is only fitting your services are on Flag Day, which will now remind me of you. God has Blessed all who were luckly enough to have known you. Aloha McCabe family, I am uncle Louie's niece from his sister Ruby Keala Garliyo . I am truly blessed to have shared moments with uncle louie . He was also a blessing to his grand niece and nephew Kalena and Evan. I remember growing up, he inspired me to play the ukulele and I also grew Fond of singing hawaiian music all through out junior high and high school. Seeing you at the hospice warmed my heart, you are truly loved by The Lord . Thanks for the encouragement uncle, never will forget your kind spirit. "Uncle" Louie...My best friend, my brother, my battle buddy, my wing man...I would go to battle anytime, anywhere in the world with this man by my side. The bond of friendship shared in harms way cannot be described, and there is nothing or no one who can ever take that away. It has truly been a gift to have known Louis in my lifetime, he will always be in my thoughts and in my heart. My sincere condolences to the family.

Known affectionately as "Uncle Louie", he always had a heart for keeping the morale up for our military personnel.  He played the ukulele, had humorous stories, served with honor on five major conflicts, and had the ability to welcome and make our Airmen feel at home while they were away from family. You have carved your name on our hearts, not a tombstone. Your legacy is etched into the minds of all of us and the stories we will always share of you. The life of your soul on earth will last far beyond your departure. We will always feel your life touching ours, your voice speaking to us and your songs in our hearts forever. You will live on in our lives and in the lives of all others that knew and loved you.

We think of Heaven as a garden where we shall find again those dear ones who have made our world so much better. We will see you again sometime down the road in your garden…..

Remember……death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the lamp because dawn has come. Your song on earth may have ended, but your melody will always linger on……

Sweet sweet brother louis john, the joy you have filled this earth with, the countless acts of kindness you have done for family, friends and           strangers will never be forgotten.

Sincere condolences to the McCabe families. I had the pleasure and honor to meet Louis at his sisters home in Colorado Springs,Colorado with their cousin Yolanda Conway and husband Bill.Louis was very special, genuine,loving,happy and generous person.I still have the ribbon lei he made and will cherish it in memory of him.So long Louis, until we meet again.SharonHenard,COS,CO

There is so much wonderful memories that I have of my dear cousin Louie. He lived with us from time to time and he always treated me like a princess brushing my hair until it dried after my bath as he always helped with my sister & brothers while growing up around him. His singing to us all his bawdy sailor songs & telling us about his travels & adventures...making us laugh with the endless amount of joke's. He was the life of the party & very caring & giving to all that crossed his path. He understood the true sense of Family & all that came with it. I can still hear him tell me that I was his favorite cousin & always told me how much he loved me as child & as an adult. I'm happy that he suffers no more but I'm sad that he is gone for now...until we meet again dear cousin rest in Love & know that are missed. Love, Jade Summo

To the McCabe ohana, sincere condolences on losing a great man, a dad to his sons, a brother to his siblings, a grampa to his grandkids, and a dear friend to us.
