Marie T. Akiona, 88, of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, passed away on February 23, 2026. Marie Akiona moved through life with commanding grace and gentle power. She loved with a depth that safeguarded, gave with a heart that knew no limits, cherished her family as her greatest treasure, and welcomed others with genuine warmth.
She is survived by her sons Gabriel K. Akiona, Bryant Akiona, Mark Akiona, and Glenn Akiona; her daughters Kathleen Akiona-Perreira and Darleen Bali; her hānai son Charles Vierra; eight grandchildren; and three great grandchildren; 14 extended family.
A funeral service will be held on March 27, 2026, at Borthwick Mortuary, Mauka Chapel. Visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m., with services to follow at 11:00 a.m.
