Mario Tapawan Contemprato, 68, of Honolulu, Hawaii, passed away on September 11th. Mario was Retired from the United States Navy and was born in the Philippines. He is survived by his wife, Elena Contemprato; sons, Mario C. Contemprato and Elmar Contemprato; daughter, Leilani Contemprato; brothers, Albert, Robert, Diomedes, Jaime, Nilo, and Noel Contemprato; sisters, Melinda Ballar, Nanette Contemprato, Celia Bituen, and Ema Nocon; and 5 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on September 20th at Borthwick Mortuary Mauka Chapel located at 1330 Maunakea Street in Honolulu. Visitation will begin at 10:00am and service will start at 11:00am.
Burial will be held on September 24th at 10:00am at Hawaii State Veteran's Cemetery located at 45-349 Kamehameha Hwy in Kaneohe.
A mass in his honor will be held this Saturday, September 19th at 9:00am at St. Peter & Paul Church located at 800 Kaheka Street in Honolulu, followed by a light snack reception.
Casual attire suggested.
