Norman "Yasu" Takushi, passed away peacefully in San Antonio, Texas on January 10, 2026 at the age of 87. Yasu was born in Puunene, Maui to Saburo and Nabe (Shikina) Takushi. He is survived by his wife, Frances (Nakama) Takushi, sons Bradley and Neal, grandsons Elijah and Brannon, granddaughters Grace and Faith, and great granddaughter Eliyah.
Yasu served in the Air Force for 5 years and 7 months, and married Frances on October 5, 1966. He worked as an Avionics Mechanic at Hawaiian Airlines and retired after 45 years. Yasu enjoyed spending time with his family and attending all their sporting events. And he was a handy man repairing everything around the house.
Though his time on earth was brief, he brought immense light, love, humor, and support to all who held him close. Yasu's presence touched his friends and family deeply, leaving memories that will forever remain cherished. His life was a reminder of the beauty and fragility of each moment. Yasu will be lovingly remembered and eternally missed.
