

Reverend Dr. Nicholas B. Christoff was born in Chicago, Illinois. The son of Macedonian immigrants, Boris and Sarah Christoff. He graduated from Grace Lutheran Elementary School, Luther South High School, received his teaching degree from Concordia College Seward, Nebraska, Master of Divinity Degree from Concordia Theological Seminary Springfield, Illinois and his Doctor of Divinity from Wartburg Seminary, Dubuque, Iowa.
He was nationally known for his apartment ministry to singles and wrote the book Saturday Night, Sunday Morning. He served as Director of Christians Singles International.
He served churches in Kearney, Nebraska, Jennings, Louisiana, Mt. Prospect Illinois, Phoenix, Arizona, and Santa Monica, California. In 1982 he was called to serve as Lutheran Campus Pastor at the University of Hawaii and served part-time at Calvary by the Sea Honolulu. In 1991 Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Waikiki called Rev. Christoff to be their Pastor until his retirement in August 2010.
Pastor Christoff loved to share God’s Word. His children and family were very special to him. He enjoyed traveling and took tour groups to the Holy Land. He was an avid Chicago Cubs fan and loved the Hawaiian Islands.
Rev. Christoff is survived by his daughter Sarah Nicole and son Nicholas (Niko) Matthew of Honolulu. His sister Blanche (Tom) Stavretis, brother Ted (Jeanne) Christoff and nephew Tim Christoff.
