

He first arrived in Hawaii in 1969. He worked for 2 years before returning to Hong Kong to get married. Their children were born in Hawaii in 1973, 1975, and 1976. He was a seafood retailer in Chinatown and started his own business named Sun Hoy Chan Fish Market. He and his wife kept the business going for 43 years, finally retiring in 2022.
He was a man with a bright smile and a big heart. He was also a very hard worker. He and his wife worked seven days a week to provide a life for the family that he had dreamed of in China. Shek Pan was a very caring man, and he loved his family fiercely. He enjoyed growing things in the yard, and loved taking care of the family pets. He also enjoyed being a grandparent and did so much for those around him.
Shek Pan is survived by his wife, Chun Yee Leong, his children Jean Lum, Linda Ohira, and Wilson Leong, and his sister Wai Kwan Aping.
Services will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Borthwick Mortuary, Mauna Kea Chapel. Visitation at 10:30 AM; Service at 11:30 AM. Burial to follow at Hawaiian Memorial Park at 2:00 PM.
