Tyrae Emma Meredith

Tyrae Emma Meredith (Raerae) of Kailua, Oahu, was tragically taken from us on January 24th, 2025, at the age of 22. Tyrae was born on May 13th, 2002, at Castle Medical Center in Kailua. She was the beloved youngest daughter of Tyrone Joduin Meredith and Luella Sinalaua (Fonoimoana) Meredith.

Tyrae was raised alongside her siblings Toa (Rylee), Tyra (Lloyd), Sonny (Kiai), and Tyler (Kaleo), and was deeply loved by her nieces and nephews Awa, Awe, Tyzen, Ahe, Torylee, and Hulali. She lived with her loving boyfriend, Thomas Kamaka Ill (Kala) for four years, and her beloved fur children, Luna, Money, and Simba.

As a graduate of Kalaheo High School in 2020, Tyrae demonstrated hard work and determination. She began her career working at Walgreens in Kailua and Dream Co in Kailua, later serving as a Special Education EA at Kalaheo High and then made her way out to Longs Drugs in Makaha. In 2024, she pursued a new opportunity as a painter’s apprentice at Pearl Harbor Shipyard. In each role, Tyrae showed dedication and a commitment to making lasting memories with coworkers and customers alike.

Tyrae had a unique passion for animals, which began with a gift of a fish from a Secret Santa and took a turn into a thriving collection of creatures, including Jackson chameleons, turtles, chickens, and four litters of puppies. She and Kala created their household animal farm in Waianae Valley, where they lovingly cared for their growing family of animals. When not tending to her animals, Tyrae enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Whether at the beach with her fur babies, hanging out with her best friend Amber Kamaka in Waimanalo, or enjoying time with her nieces and nephews in Kailua, Tyrae was joyous and positive person. She also created cherished moments at Kailua Tavern with her sisters.

Above all, Tyrae shared an unbreakable bond with her father. The two were inseparable, always lifting each other up with laughter and love. Tyrae’s energetic spirit, quick wit, and infectious laughter will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

A celebration of life will be held in honor of Tyrae Emma Meredith (Raerae) on Saturday, February 22nd, 2025, at 2:00 PM. The celebration will take place at The McFarland Estates, located at 53-772 Kamehameha Hwy, Hauula, HI 96717. Please look for signs posted in the area.
