He was born in Honolulu, Hawaii and graduated from McKinley High School and the University of Hawaii. He served in the United States Army and retired from Hawaiian Electric Company in 1990.
He is survived by his wife, Bessie L. Chong; Daughters, Lisa Chong and Karen Chong Tokumoto; 1 grandchild; Brothers Paul Fernandez and Raphael Phillips; Sisters, Winona Foulks and Leatrice Cazinha.
Celebration of life will be held at Co-Cathedral of Theresa in Kalihi on Saturday, March 10, 2012.
Services will begin at 11:00 a.m.
