
William A. (Bill) Hahn passed away peacefully at home at the age of 95 on March 30, 2023, at 5:15 P.M. Bill was born and raised in San Francisco where he attended George Washington High School and went to graduate from the University of California Berkely in 1950.
His first job after college was working for the California National Guard. After two years there he embarked on his long and successful insurance career starting with the Hartford and Cosgrove brokerage firms.
In 1954 Bill married hi beloved wife Diane and in 1956 they moved to Honolulu and Bill began working for his Uncle Harry at Insurance Factors, Ltd where he became President in 1964. During this time, Diane taught home economics at Punahou School. Insurance Factors was later sold to Pacific Insurance in 1970 and Bill was made Vice President in charge of the Agency Division. After five years Bill left Pacific Insurance and became a very prominent and successful independent agent in the Honolulu marketplace. During his insurance career, Bill proudly served on the Board of Directors for Pacific Insurance, Kenneth Shioi Construction and A.L. Kilgo Company.
Bill loved golf, basketball, baseball, and football. He was a dedicated CA Bears, San Francisco 49’rs, Giants and Golden State Warriors fan.Bill was a member of Oahu Country Club for over 55 years where he enjoyed playing golf and cribbage with his many friends and colleagues at the club.
Bill and Diane also loved travelling extensively across the United States, Canada, and many other foreign countries over their lifetime. They would always return with stories, pictures, and special souvenirs from their many adventures together.
Bill is survived by his beloved wife of over 68 years Diane Isabelle Hahn, cousins Holly Hermansen and family, Bob Beam, and family. While having no children of their own, Bill will also be remembered for being the best Hanai “Uncle Bill” to the Schrader, Clark and Libkuman families.
