

Mr. Andrew Franklin McMillan, 84 of Fayetteville passed on Friday, July 2, 2021 at his home. The funeral will be conducted at 11:00am Tuesday at Reeves Funeral Home Chapel by the Reverend Ellen McCubbin and Reverend Dennis Sheppard.
Frank is survived by his wife of 63 years Randayle “Randy” McMillan of Fayetteville; a son Bobby McMillan (wife Vicki) of Hope Mills and daughter Laura Brown (husband Neil) of Fayetteville; nine grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents Rowland and Alberteen McMillan; brothers Calvin, John and Woodie McMillan; sister Magdalene Stephens; daughter Deborah Greer and granddaughter Renee Greer.
Frank and Randy met in 1948 at Oxford Orphanage where they were raised and were married in 1958. They originally made their home in Norfolk, VA but later moved to Fayetteville, NC and raised a family with one son and two daughters.
Frank started his professional career as a meat cutter (butcher) for several grocery stores in VA and NC. This was a skill he acquired while at the orphanage. He would later transition to a career as a USDA meat inspector from which he retired in 2000. In retirement he would start up several small businesses such as lawn care, roofing and a small restaurant in Rockfish, NC called Billy’s Kitchen. He always said “I might wear out but I will never rust out”.
Frank was a member of Hope Mills United Methodist for 50+ years and served on many boards and committees. He most enjoyed working with the Methodist Men and his Fellowship Bible Sunday school class.
Also, a member of several organization such as Shriners International, Hope Mills Shrine Club, Sudan Temple and Masonic Lodge #391. He served as president of the shrine club and Master of Lodge #391. He achieved the 33 degree of masonry and received the P H Hanks Award. He took great pride in traveling to other shrine clubs to talk about and raise money for Oxford Orphanage now know as The Masonic Children’s Home of Oxford. He also took it upon himself to make sure that area athletes who were selected to the annual Shrine Bowl received Shrine Bowl rings.
The family will receive friends Monday night 6-8pm at Reeves Funeral Home and other times at the home. Memorials may be made to the Masonic Home For Children (Oxford Orphanage) 600 College Street, Oxford NC 27565.
