

Bernice Sims Craig, a cherished, faithful, beloved, and devoted woman, passed away on February 20, 2026, at the age of 94. She was born on July 31, 1931, in Selma, Alabama, to Charlie and Arbalia Sims.
Bernice met Albert Craig in Selma, Alabama, where they were neighbors. They moved to Fayetteville, North Carolina, and married in 1953, being blessed with eight children together. She was preceded in death by her parents; her twin babies, Jackie and Jackqueline Craig; her children, Romulus Craig and Delece Craig; her granddaughters, Ashlee Craig and Mariah Andrews; and her siblings, Charles Sims, Earnest Sims, James Sims, Thurston Sims, DeWillie Sims, Larry Sims, Arthur Sims, Thelma Brookins, and Gertie Sims.
She is survived by her husband, Albert Craig; her children, Alvin Craig (Jacqueline), Marvin Craig, Bernard Craig (Sharon), Quinten Craig (Debra), and her daughter-in-law, Sherri Craig; her grandchildren, Jessica, Tiffany, Adontae, Albert (A.D.), Rome, Rion, Eva, Asia, and 12 great-grandchildren; her brother, Leroy Sims; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A devout Christian, Bernice was a baptized member of The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses. She enjoyed going out in field service and pioneering. Bernice was an excellent cook, very talented in arts and crafts, flower arranging, and a talented seamstress. Known for her piercing green eyes, most contagious laugh, and great sense of style, Bernice was strong in her faith and in her love for her family.
Visitation will be held at the Kingdom Hall Of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 3265 Cumberland Rd, Fayetteville, NC 28306, on February 28, 2026, from 10:30 am to 11:30 am. The funeral service will follow at the same location at 11:30 am.
Bernice's legacy of love, faith, and family will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
