CW4 Leland James Brinson (Ret)

Leland was born February 25, 1934 in Duplin County, NC to the late Hillary Thomas and Ruby Griffith Brinson. He proudly served in the US Army for over twenty-six years serving in Vietnam for three tours of duty. After retirement, he served as Hope Mills Town Supervisor for two years.

Along with his parents, he was pre-deceased in death by his wife of 59 years, Audrey Kay Brinson and granddaughter Alaina N. Abernathy.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 25, 2017 at 11:00 am at Freedom Baptist Church on Middle Road in Fayetteville with interment to follow at Lafayette Memorial Park with masonic and military honors. Visitation will be Monday, April 24, 2017 from 6-8 pm at Reeves Funeral Home.

Among those who remember his life and mourn his passing include; daughter, Kathy Brinson Abernathy of Cherryville, NC; sons, Gary Ray Brinson and wife April of King George, VA Corey Lee Brinson and wife Shari of Fayetteville, and Robert Thomas Brinson of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Audra Faye Boyd and husband Kevin, Caleb Lee Brinson and wife Angel, Jacob Wagner Brinson and wife Kaylah, Raine O. Jackson, Shay N. Brinson, Cora A. Brinson, Emma G. Brinson and Lydia Brinson; great grandchildren, Leland J. Brinson, Braden and Camden Roles and awaiting the arrival of a great granddaughter Boyd in August 2017 and his siblings, James, Kathleen, Glenda Faye, Randy, Carl Dean and Douglas Brinson.
