

Hope Mills: David Warner Riley, 67, of Hope Mills, was called to Heaven on Thursday July 23rd, 2015 as our Lord proclaimed “Well done thy Good and Faithful Servant”! His wife and daughter were by his side. David was born on March 14, 1947 in Stevbenville, Ohio.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday August 1, 2015 at 11:00 am at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hope Mills. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pruitt Hospice of Fayetteville.
David was preceded in death by his mother Dorothy Riley Sanders and father Howard Riley. David is survived by his loving wife of 42 years, Marlene (Camerlengo) Riley, his daughter Jennifer Jackson and husband Eric of Hope Mills, his son David and wife Colene of Tampa, Florida, his grandchildren Jordan and Alexandria Jackson of Hope Mills, Ava Riley and Madisyn Dones of Tampa, Florida and his brother Howard E. Riley of Fort Meyers, Florida.
David served in the United States Marine Corps from 1967 to 1971 and was deployed to South Vietnam. After his military service, he was employed with Weirton Steel Corporation in Weirton, West Virginia where he retired after 35 years of service. In 2005, he and his wife moved to Hope Mills. David served at and was a parishioner at the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Hope Mills.
David was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Nicknamed “the Wiseman” by his grandson, “Papa Dave” will forever live in the hearts of his family and friends
