Mr. Donald Wayne Gainey, 54, of Linden died Thursday, January 1st at his home. He was born April 29, 1960 in Harnett County, son of the late Walter and Rose Crane Gainey. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Gerald Walter Gainey and a sister, Pamela Carol Gainey. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, January 6th at 4:00 P.M. in the chapel of Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home with Rev. Randy Anderson officiating. Burial will be private at a later date. He is survived by one son, Jeffrey Gainey of Spring Lake, one daughter, Melanie Gainey of Cedar Creek, two step-sons, Roy Barnes and Brian Hubbard both of Fayetteville, four sisters, Joan Gainey Bass of Linden, Janice Gainey Stancil and husband Arnold of Coats, Jill Hobgood and husband Tommy of Oxford, and Dora Soto and husband Mike of Spring Lake, one brother, Steven Gainey and wife Tonya of Linden, a sister-in-law, Audrey Gainey of Linden, and two grandchildren. The family will receive friends Monday, January 5th from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Cromartie-Miller Funeral Home.
