It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of James (Jim) Andrew LeMaster, 80, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, who passed away peacefully at home on March 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with heart disease. He was a devoted husband, loving father, cherished family member, and dear friend whose kindness and strength touched the lives of many.
Born on December 9, 1945, in Washington, D.C., Jim was the son of the late Annette and Jerome (Jerry) LeMaster. He was the brother of Bruce LeMaster of Columbia. Jim was the proud father of Jeffrey James LeMaster and his wife, Piper Cronin-LeMaster, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, and a cherished grandfather to Colby Cronin of Berwick, Maine. Lastly, his beloved family dog, Tartan (“Tar”), who was his loyal companion and best friend.
Jim shared a devoted marriage of 59 years with his high school sweetheart, soulmate, and beloved wife, Linda. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter, and lasting memories while living in New York, Florida, and eventually settling in North Carolina.
Jim grew up in Delmar, New York, and graduated from Bethlehem Central High School in 1964. He continued his education at Hudson Valley Community College, graduating in 1966, and later earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Syracuse University in 1969.
Following graduation, Jim began a successful career in the wholesale automotive parts industry, representing several manufacturers across the globe. His strong entrepreneurial spirit and extensive automotive knowledge eventually led him to establish his own online auto parts business.
A proud veteran, Jim served his country with honor in the U.S. Army National Guard and carried that same sense of dedication and responsibility throughout his life. His strength, integrity, and quiet determination were evident in everything he did.
Jim loved creating, building, and fixing almost anything—from gators and dump trucks to renovating homes. One of his proudest accomplishments was building the barn and workshop of his dreams alongside his son, Jeff.
A true motorhead, Jim had a lifelong passion for cars and racing. He pursued that passion by graduating from the Skip Barber Racing School at Laguna Seca, California, and the Richard Petty Driving Experience in Charlotte, North Carolina—experiences that brought him great joy.
Those who knew Jim will remember his quiet strength, steady work ethic, and willingness to lend a helping hand whenever it was needed. His presence brought stability, guidance, and comfort to those around him. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so dearly and in the many memories shared by those fortunate enough to know him.
