John Jeffery Rapp

John Rapp was born in Rochester, NY in 1951. After graduating from East High School he joined the army from 1969-1975, serving his country during the Viet Nam War. While serving with the 82nd Airborne at Fort Bragg, NC he met Georgia Etta Wilkins. Soon after they were married and before long they had two sons, John Jr and Warren. In 1978 they returned to Rochester, NY where John was employed by Kodak for 30years. After retiring, John & Georgia returned to Fayetteville, NC to be close to Georgia’s family. In his spare time he enjoyed fishing, playing the piano, and listening to his favorite Elvis songs. He had a special place in his heart for his fellow service men and supported the Wounded Warrior project and many other military charity organizations. Above all, was his love for God and his strong Faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

On September 4th,2011 John & Georgia, lost their younger son (Warren), leaving them both severely heartbroken. Georgia never recovered from the loss of their son, which led to her passing away on January 4th, 2013. This devastated John and began his long 9 year depression from losing his wife and soulmate of 40 years. In the end, John would share with his oldest son, John Jr, his vivid dreams of Georgia telling him that they would soon be together again. Looking forward to being reunited with his life long love, John died soon thereafter.

Left to cherish his memory are his son, John J. Rapp, Jr.; his siblings, Susie, Bobby, Karen and Patty all of who reside in Rochester, NY; a host of nieces and nephews, and his Brothers and Sisters in Arms.

He is preceeded in passing by his wife, Georgia and a son, James "Warren" Rapp, and his brother Warren Rapp.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made in John's memory to the Wounded Warrior Project.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Reeves Funeral Home Chapel at 4 P.M. with Pastor Johnk Blackman officiating and a Visitation with Family & Friends will be held at 3 prior to the service.
