Linda Johnson Duquette, age 77 of Erwin, died Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC.
Linda was born June 4, 1944 in Harnett County the daughter of the late Waylon Johnson and Hazel Lee Johnson and is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years of marriage, Benny Ray Duquette. She is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Mikayla Duquette and brothers, Waylon B. Johnson, Jr., D.B. Johnson and Sherrill Johnson and sister-in-law, Phyllis Duquette Daniels.
Linda was a 1962 graduate of Erwin High School and a lifelong resident of Erwin. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church. Linda retired from Morganite, Inc. in Dunn with 30 plus years of working. After retiring Linda began a new venture, she started her own business, called “Creations by Ladybug” doing videos for Weddings, Funerals, and other special events.
Linda was all about family, she was the glue that held the family together and enjoyed keeping the family reunions going in the Johnson Family. She raised her sons that family was very important.
A Funeral Service will be held Saturday, October 23, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Pleasant Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church. Burial will follow in Erwin Memorial Park.
She is survived by: Three Sons: Dwayne Duquette & (wife) Joy of Pittsboro, NC; Timmy Duquette & (wife) Julie of Fuquay-Varina, NC; Barry Duquette & (wife) Renee of Benson, NC.
Grandchildren: Liliane Duquette, Josiah Duquette, Dylan Duquette and Skylar Duquette.
Sister: Doris Stewart of Bluffton, SC
Brothers: Carl Johnson & (wife) Peggy of Seattle, Washington; Paul Johnson & (wife) Cara of Erwin, NC; Bobby Johnson & (wife) Vickie of Coats, NC and Larry Johnson & (wife) Diann of Roseboro, NC.
Sisters-in-Law: Lola Johnson of Austin, Texas and Frances Johnson of Hilmar, California; Gracie Duquette Jones & (husband) Jimmy of Dunn, NC and Sherry Duquette of Godwin, NC.
She is also survived by many Nieces and Nephews which she loved dearly.
Special Friend: Frank Howatt of Southern Pines, NC.
The family will receive friends Saturday, October 23, 2021 from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 pm at Pleasant Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church. Prior to the Service.
