Ruth Weaver West age 92 of Erwin, died Thursday, September 23, 2021 at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn, NC.
Mrs. West was born on July 20, 1929 in Harnett County the daughter of the late Walter Dewey Weaver and Lottie Elizabeth Mitchell Weaver and is preceded in death by her husband of 72 years of marriage, Earl West. She is also preceded in death by sons, Walter (Buddy) West and Linwood (Tadpole) West; a granddaughter, Kimberly Hartley and a brother, Bobby Leon Weaver.
Ruth was an awesome mother and “MeMa” to her family. She was a housemaker all of her life and loved doing for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as extended family. There was always someone at her home to take care of and that is how she liked it.
She also loved the beach and enjoyed fishing. She would take off with her grandchildren and take them to the beach. She also loved the mountains. She was always pleasant and everyone loved her, but she could be stern when she needed to be with her three boys.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 1:30 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home Chapel with Elder Vick officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Cemetery in Benson.
She is survived by: A Son: Phil West & (wife) Virginia Ann of Erwin, NC
Sisters: Betty Gray Elmore of Dunn, NC and Shirley Ann Carroll of Raleigh, NC.
Grandchildren: Michelle W. Harrelson & (husband) Scott of New Bern, NC.
Loman Cephus Coats & (wife) Susan of Erwin, NC.
Great Grandchildren: Rayce Harrelson, Jake Harrelson & Wayne Coats & (wife) Angie.
Great Great Grandchildren: Dallas, Emma & Wyatt Coats and numerous Nieces and Nephews.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 12:00 Noon – 1:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn. One hour prior to the service.
Due to covid, masks are required in the funeral home.
