

Macil Morton Thompson 86, died on April 12 2015 at Carolina Rehab in Fayetteville, NC after a long illness. The Lord has replaced pain and suffering with eternal peace. She had been a resident of Fayetteville for 32 years.
She was born in Clay Co., Bentree, West Virginia on July 19th, 1928 to the late Harrison C. Morton and Lucy Violet Moore Morton.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 49 years, Kenneth "Bill" Thompson. An infant daughter, Janet Lucille Jones; sisters, Joann Morton, Mary Proctor, Nellie Stone Mays, Mable Austin, Nancy Coville, brothers; Eugene and Bobbie Morton.
She is survived by her devoted loving daughter Susan Webb Strickland and son-in-law Ronald of Eastover, NC; sisters, Esther Ricker of Elyria, Ohio and Carrie A Kiger of Fayetteville, NC
Macil was a longtime member of Kernersville Pentecostal Holiness Church.
She was a life long homemaker who had a special love of cooking, sewing and crafts. She also loved vegetable gardening and canning. She enjoyed planting flowers bulbs. She never failed to impress her daughter that she knew the name of every tree and berry bush during their walks through the woods in West Virginia in her younger years, or that we could actually grow our own Loofah sponges in Gourds.
The Family would like to give a very grateful, heartfelt "Thank You" to Carolyn Davis who went above and beyond in assistance in her care during the past 4 years.
Graveside service to be held at Lafayette Memorial Park West 6701 Raeford Rd. Fayetteville, N.C. on Saturday, April 18, 2015 with Pastor Rev. Elton Bryan of the Hope Mills Pentecostal Holiness Church 5855 Rockfish Rd. Hope Mills, NC 28348 officiating.
The family asks in lieu of Flowers, donations be made to the Church.
