Mrs. Magdalene Smith Pleasant

Mrs. Magdalene Smith Pleasant, age 83 of 294 East Main St., Coats died Sunday Morning, May 8, 2016 at her home.

Mrs. Pleasant was born in Wake County on June 16, 1932 the daughter of the late Rufus Mayton Smith & Lena Florence Stephenson Smith and is preceded in death by sons, Danny Day & Sammy Day; a Grandson, Skyler Day; brothers, Jerry Wayne Smith, Rufus George Smith, Richard Ray Smith & Dwight Smith; sisters, Mozelle S. Adams & Bobbie Rose Brown.

She was proud of her position as a Teacher’s Assistant at Harnett Central High School and she served families as a private home health caregiver and was an active member of the City of Coats Planning Board.

A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at11:00 am at Red Hill Church with Pastor James Gurkin & Pastor Tony Beasley Officiating. Burial will follow in the

church cemetery.

She is survived by: Her Husband: Sherrill Pleasant of the home.

2 Sons: Rattler Stewart & wife Tammy of Dunn, NC and Jeremy Pleasant & wife Michelle of Franklinton, NC

A Daughter: Connie P. Holland & husband Mickey, Sr. of Erwin, NC

3 Brothers: Fred Allan Smith of Benson, NC; Ralph Edward Smith and Durwood Smith both of Willow Springs, NC

Grandchildren: Brandon Day, Mickey Lee Holland, Jr., Candace Holland Brooks, Lindsey Stewart Johnson, Morgan Stewart, Haley Pleasant, April Day Moses & Chris Day

Great Grandchildren: Landon Holland, Elijah Brooks, Nevaeh Brooks, Mason Holland, Charlee Grace Johnson & Layla Kate Johnson

The Family will receive friends Tuesday Evening, May 10, 2016 from 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Cromartie Miller Funeral Home in Dunn and at other times at the Home.
