

Marie Anne was a devoted nurse for over 40 years, serving as a hospital nurse, Nursing Home Administrator, Director of Nursing, and a Hospice Nurse. She took care of everyone with love and dedication. She enjoyed playing BINGO, traveling to Atlantic City, knitting, crocheting, cooking, and baking. She was renowned for her Chocolate Cake and Pig Pickin' Cake, loved by many near and far.
Marie Anne cherished hosting her family for holidays, always preparing an enormous spread. Her greatest joy was having her family together, and she was affectionately known as "Girlfriend" or "grandma" by her grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son Bradley Fontaine, her parents David and Irene Vincent, her brothers Norman Vincent and Bobby Vincent, and her sister Eleanor Schara. Marie Anne is survived by her husband Dave Walker, her children Roger Fontaine, Janet Harris and her husband Vernon, Tracy Fontaine and his wife Michelle, April Hood and her husband Greg, Alisha Carroll and her husband John, Jody Heap and her husband Robert, and David Buoniconti and his wife Jolene. She also leaves behind 23 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held on January 24, 2026, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Reeves Funeral Home, located at 3308 N Main St, Hope Mills, North Carolina, 28348.
Marie Anne will be remembered for her unwavering dedication to her family and her remarkable contributions to the field of nursing. Her legacy of love and care will continue to inspire those who knew her.
