Martha West Parsons

Martha West Parsons, age 90, of Fayetteville, North Carolina, left her Earthly home on Sunday, February 2, 2025. Martha was born June 13, 1934, in Sampson County, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Theodore and Mary West. She is also preceded in death by her son, David Lamont Parsons; her sister, Sylvia Johnson; her brother, T.D. West Jr.; her brother in law, Bobby Johnson; and her sister in law, Diane West.

Martha Lou is survived by her husband, Franklin Delano Parsons; her son, Douglas Parsons (Wanda); her sister, Betty C. West; her granddaughter Erica Gaskins (Billy); and her great grandchildren, Hailey and Noah Arnette.

Martha Lou grew up on the family farm in Sampson County. She was taught about Jesus from birth by her family and she lived out her Christian life working with the youth and other organizations serving others, and spreading the word and love of Jesus. She was a graduate of Mingo High School and she became a telephone switchboard operator and had a career that spanned over 30 years at Ft. Bragg.

A visitation for Martha will be held Saturday, February 8, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Roberts Grove Church, 725 Roberts Grove Road, Dunn, NC 28334. A funeral service will occur Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 1:00 PM, 725 Roberts Grove Road, Dunn, NC 28334. A burial will occur Saturday, February 8, 2025 at Roberts Grove Church Cemetery, 725 Roberts Grove Road, Dunn, NC 28334. Pallbearers will be Gregory Tyndall, Lynn Register, Wayne Herrin, Gene Parsons, Scott Pope, and Janson Brewer.
