Rosia Jane Freeman

Ms. Rosia Jane Hunt Freeman, age 87, of Dunn died Sunday, April 24, 2022 at Betsy Johnson Hospital in Dunn, N.C.

Ms. Freeman was born May 11, 1934 in Robeson County, She was the daughter of the late Henry Hunt and Mollie Deese Hunt. She was preceded in death by her husband, Woodrow Freeman, a son, Woodrow Freeman, Jr., two nephews, she raised as her own Tracy Hunt and Thomas Hunt, and several brothers and sisters.

Ms. Freeman was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, Her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren brought her much enjoyment.

She was a great cook and loved feeding everyone that was around, she didn’t want anyone to leave hungry. She had a heart of gold, never meeting a stranger, treating everyone like they were family.

Rosia had a spunkie personality and always had a smile on her face. She loved her church and was a devoted christian that loved the Lord and lived it in her everyday life. She had a beautiful soul and was a true southern classy lady who always dressed up.

A Funeral Service will be held Sunday, May 1, 2022 at 3:00 pm at Grace Chapel Church with Pastor Ricky Burnette and Apostle John “Buddy” Burnette officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

She is survived by: Six Daughters: Mollie McEachin & (Robert) of Dunn, NC; Elizabeth Freeman of Orrum, NC; Catherin McPhail & (Donald) of Red Springs, NC; Mary Stratford of Dunn, NC; Isabell Freeman-Elliott of Dunn, NC and Linda Brewington of Wade, NC.

Three Sons: Michael Freeman of Dunn NC; Joe Freeman & (Stephanie) of Erwin, NC and Billy Freeman & (Donna) of Erwin, NC.

Step-Son: Charles Freeman & (Haleen) of Bolton, NC.

A nephew that she raised as her own Robert “Man” Huggins of Greensboro, NC.

A host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, May 1, 2022 from 1:30 pm – 2:30 pm at Grace Chapel Church, prior to services and at other times at the home of Isabell’s “Lucy” home located at 103 Lebanon Place, Dunn, NC.
