OBITUARY Erwin, NC Mr. Thomas “Tom” Gardner Johnson, age 72 of East K Street, Erwin died Thursday, July 10, 2014 at Wake Medical Center in Raleigh. Mr. Johnson was born January 21, 1942 in Durham County but was a Johnston County native and the son of the late Daniel Gardner & Susan Catherine Johnson. He is preceded in death by a brother, Richard Johnson, 2 sisters, Brenda Johnson & Betty Johnson and a Nephew, John Wayne Johnson. He was retired from Burlington Industries in Erwin and from the N.C. Dept. of Transportation. A funeral service will be held Sunday, July 13, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. at Cromartie Miller & Lee Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Roy Johnson, Rev. Terry Johnson, Rev. Randy Anderson & Rev. Everette Faircloth officiating. Burial will follow in Devotional Gardens in Dunn. Surviving: Include his wife: Betty Matthews Johnson of the home. 2 Sons: Thomas Michael Johnson and Randy Keith Johnson both of Erwin, NC A Daughter: Jacqueline Renee Johnson of Erwin, N.C, 2 Brothers: Rufus W. Norris & (husband) Willis of Clayton, NC Sandra J. Sherrill & (husband) Wayne of Raleigh, NC 7 Grandchildren: Jason, Brandon, Matthew, Michelle, Jamie, Austin & Amber 3 Great Grandchildren and several Nieces & Nephews The family will receive friends Sunday July 13, 2014 from 1:00 – 3:00 pm at Cromartie Miller & Lee Funeral Home 2 hours prior to the funeral.
