Born September 25, 1959, to the late Walter “Jack” Culbreth and Alreta Bunce Culbreth in Cumberland County, North Carolina.
Dean was a loving husband to his wife Karen. He was that special person everyone loved being around. A kind and gentle spirited man. He would give the shirt off is back to anyone in need. Dean was a jokester at heart always carrying a smile on his face. He was an armchair meteorologist and could tell you the weather forecast sometimes better than the weatherman. Amazingly, animals loved him to the point he was like an animal whisperer.
Mr. Culbreth loved to cook sharing one of his lifelong passions with everyone. Dean was well known in the Stedman Community cooking for Papa Jacks, Bunce Restaurant, and The Stedman Soda Shop. People always followed him wherever he was cooking.
Dean was a great musician, who loved to sing and play the drums. Known to him were his special brothers, the late Ronnie MacIntosh, Walter Robinson, Larry Blake, and Steve Willis. They shared a common passion for music playing together in the bands - Steel House and Pettin’ Zoo.
Dean was a true Carolina Tarheels, Carolina Panthers, and the Washington Redskins fan. He was very superstitious about his teams and if they won, he would keep wearing the same thing every time, even rubbing his wife’s head for luck.
Dean was that All American Guy everyone loved being around. He could put a smile on anyone’s face with his genuine heartfelt compassion. His words were few, but he used them to brighten someone’s day.
Dean will be missed by all that knew him including his fur babies Bentley and Happy and his memories
will always carry on.
Preceding him in death are his parents and a sister, Wanda Denise Culbreth, father and mother-in-law, John and Judy Blanton, a niece Teresa Margaret Taylor Nelms and great niece Tyra Brianna Elliott.
