Al left this world to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on February 26, 2020.
Al attended Azusa Theology College, at Azusa California, Cerritos Community college, Cerritos California. He pastored at many churches most notably, The Church of God and the Nazarene Church. Al was blessed with the “gift of gab” which was surely a gift from the Lord to help spread His Word.
Al celebrated the works of the Lord when traveling, fishing, hunting, gardening or working as a carpenter. He was always grateful to be outside in God’s beautiful creation.
Al was blessed with four amazing daughters- Leonia and her husband, Daryl Austin, of Mena Arkansas; Christine and her husband, Martin Gillion, of Santa Rosa, California; Darla Terry of Hatton, Arkansas; and Robin Shilkey of Waukesha, Wisconsin.
He adored his twelve grandchildren: Travis Dwayne Redd who greeted him in Heaven; Kenneth Anderson of Long Beach, California; Bryan Anderson and his wife, Gabriella, of Virginia Beach, Virginia; Stacy and her husband, Dennis Morgan, of Sycamore, Alabama; Randi Teague of Farmingville, New York; Matthew Teague and his wife, Heather, of Sylacauga, Alabama; John Menken and his wife, Stephanie of Siloam Springs, Arkansas; Stephen Menken and his wife, Alysia, of Schertz Texas; Cecile Redd of Berryville Arkansas; Franklin Redd of Kilgore, Texas; Roger Redd of San Antonio, Texas; Andrew Shilkey of Kansas City, Missouri; and Savannah Shilkey of Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Al was also very blessed to have thirty-four great grandchildren and four great great-grandchildren.
He is also survived by his sister, Joyce, and her husband, Robert Weathersby.
His family has asked you to remember Al with an act of kindness and a generous spirit, just as he generously donated his body to science.
