

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Charles Royce Edwards, who went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 16, 2025. Born on March 8, 1942, in Shreveport, Louisiana, Charles was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a cherished member of his community.
Charles was the eldest of four children born to John B. Edwards and Rosa Moore Edwards. When his father passed, he stepped into the role of patriarch, exemplifying strength, leadership, and unwavering devotion to his loved ones. Known affectionately to many as Chuck, Charles's personality was marked by warmth and integrity.
A proud graduate of Sherman High School in Sherman, Texas, Charles's faith was a central part of his life. He was a dedicated member of the First Baptist Church of Bossier City, Louisiana.
Charles was married for 35 wonderful years to his true soulmate, the love of his life, Francis Edwards, whom he deeply loved and cherished. Charles was a devoted father to Michael and Laura, and a proud Poppa and Grandpa, relishing every moment spent with his grandchildren and his numerous great-grandchildren.
Professionally, Charles dedicated 35 years of his life to working for Frito-Lay. Beyond his career, Charles was an avid motorcycle rider, which quenched his wanderlust, traveling through all the lower 48 states and into Canada.
Preceded in death by his wife Francis, his parents, John and Rosa, and his siblings Harold J. Edwards and Janice Edwards Stanton. Charles is survived by his children Laura Ardoin and Michael (Dani) Edwards, sister Rosemary Edwards Gridier, grandchildren Lisa N. Freeland, Laura A. Edwards, Ashlyn Leitch, Natasha Jeane, and his many great grandchildren. Charles leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and resilience. His memory will forever be cherished by his family and friends whose lives he touched profoundly.
Charles Royce Edwards's life was a testament to faith, family, and passion. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in our hearts.
