Mrs. Dorie Lynn Steele

Dorie Lynn Steele, 62 of Hot Springs Village made her journey home to be with the Lord on June 2, 2014. She was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 22, 1952. Dorie’s life was a testimony of her desire to follow the greatest commandment, which was, to love the Lord first, and to love others as herself. She had a magnetic personality which drew people to her, and she in turn used this gift to reflect the joy of the Lord that filled her heart. She found great solace in sitting on the family deck overlooking the lake and the annual family trips to enjoy the sugar white sandy beaches of northwest Florida. She was a devoted wife, mother, and a great teacher to her family. Her wisdom was often passed onto her family via her beloved “Dorie-isms.” She is predeceased by her Mother; Corena (McLendon) Kane and her Brother; Larry “Rusty” Goodwill. Those still cherishing her memory are her loving husband of 23 years, Clay Steele, her daughters; Doriane Steele, Carey Steele and son; Lee Jones. Sisters; Carey (Roger) Osborn of Bastrop, Texas and Loretta (Allen) Lee of LaMarque, Texas, Many nieces and nephews also, numerous friends. A visitation will be held on Thursday June 5, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. Followed by a celebration of her life at 3:00p.m. in the Chapel of Gross Funeral Home, with the Pastor Mike Kelly officiating.
