Doris Baldridge

Doris Marie Holloway Baldridge Pritchard (age 91) passed away May 20, 2024 at home in Hot Springs, AR. She was born March 6, 1933 on a farm located between Mulberry and Ozark, AR. She was the youngest of 5 children born to Laura Mae and Willis Holloway.

After graduating from Ozark H S at 17, Doris began nurses training in Fort Smith where she met Vernon Baldridge, who was in the military. They were married almost 60 years. Doris later moved into a cottage at The Atrium in Hot Springs, AR. There she met her 2nd Prince Charming, David Pritchard. After a whirlwind romance they were married in 2018. Who says love and romance is only for the young!

Doris was preceded in death by her parents Laura Mae and Willis, three brothers Fleming, Harold and Ralph Holloway and one sister Marjorie Whitson.

She is survived by David Pritchard, her 2nd husband; a daughter Martha Leathers and her husband Dan Leathers; a son Biff Baldridge and his wife Laurie Baldridge; three grandchildren, Joshua Baldridge, Alyssa Parkhill (husband Graham) and Katy Linder (husband Keith); two great-granddaughters MacKenzie Carnahan and Margot Parkhill; and her cat, Booger.

Doris was an avid horse racing fan and loved to go to Oaklawn Park. Doris made friends wherever she went, whether it be at the race track or at work. A testament to her capacity to make friendships was revealed at her 2018 wedding when 28 past co-workers from Dillards attended the wedding.

There will be a visitation held at Gross Funeral Home on Saturday May 25, 2024 at 12:30pm with a funeral service to follow at 1:00pm. A graveside service will be held at 1:00pm Tuesday May 28, 2024 at Forest Hills Cemetery in Alexander, AR. Guests may register at www.GrossFuneralHome.com.
