Gene served with honor in the United States Army for many years, during which he traveled to Thailand and Madrid with his wife, experiencing the world and building lasting memories. His military career was distinguished by numerous medals and achievements, reflecting his dedication and commitment.
After his military service, Gene worked for the U.S. Government for 15 years, contributing his skills and expertise to serve his country in a different capacity.
An avid enthusiast, Gene loved to play golf, build computers, and explore his family's genealogy. His fascination with cameras led him to be an active member of the Camera Club, where he shared his passion with others. Additionally, he was a proud member of the Ham Radio Club.
Gene's life was a testament to service, curiosity, and a love for learning and sharing. He leaves behind a legacy of dedication, curiosity, and cherished memories with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents Lawrence and Lucille Balch.
He is survived by his wife Jane Balch; son David Balch; daughter Jody Sandwisch; and grandsons Logan and Braeden Balch.
