

Irene Mae Davis, 97, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, passed away on January 10, 2025, surrounded by loved ones. Irene was born on May 31, 1927, in North Wildwood, New Jersey, and grew up between Philadelphia, PA, and Cape May, NJ. Throughout her life, she was known for her adventurous spirit, her love for family, and her unwavering passion for life.
Irene spent much of her adult life as a successful and dedicated hairdresser, operating Renee’s Beauty Salon for 50 years. Her work was not just a profession, but a reflection of her caring nature as she helped generations of clients look and feel their best. Her warmth and kindness extended beyond her work, as she made lifelong friends wherever she went.
After retiring, Irene and her late husband, Freeman Davis, embraced the freedom of the open road, traveling across the United States in their RV, always accompanied by their beloved pets. These travels not only filled her life with memories but also allowed her to meet and form lasting bonds with people across the country. Irene’s zest for life was evident in all her endeavors, whether exploring new places or engaging in her lifelong love of horse racing.
Irene found her true home in Hot Springs, Arkansas, where she fell in love with the peaceful, laid-back lake life. She relished every moment spent on the water, surrounded by the beauty of nature.
Irene was known as "Meme" to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, a name that will live on in their hearts as a symbol of her love and devotion. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and a cherished wife to Freeman. She leaves behind her son, David Davis (Paula), her daughter, Linda Musil, her grandchildren, Tami Musil, Robbie Musil (Elaine), Shaye Moreno (Conner), and Nicolas Davis, and her great-grandchildren, Nicole, Wednesday and August. Irene also leaves behind many dear friends and extended family members, all of whom will miss her greatly.
The family would like to extend a special note of gratitude to Gina Foshee, Irene's devoted caregiver, for her unwavering care, compassion, and love. A heartfelt thanks is also given to Arkansas Hospice for providing Irene with comfort and dignity in her last moments.
A celebration of Irene’s life will be held Saturday at 10:00 am at Gross Funeral Home in Hot Springs, AR.
