

Jack Andrew Breckenridge of Hot Springs, Arkansas, died November 22, 2023 at the age of 36. Jack was born in Hot Springs. He was a 2006 graduate of Lakeside High School. Jack attended National Park College and Quapaw Technical Institute where he earned his credentials as a licensed auto mechanic, boiler operator, and HVAC technician.
Jack worked five years at Mid-America Science Museum in Hot Springs, Arkansas. After several promotions, he became Director of Building and Exhibit. He was described as a reliable, pleasant, respectful, creative, and conscientious worker who always went the extra mile. Jack's most recent employment was serving on the property maintenance staff for Grand Point Bay Apartments in Hot Springs.
Jack was an artist, painter, movie critic, voracious reader, avid bird watcher, and lover of nature. He was kind, honest, a good listener, lived a simple life, and could fix anything. Jack studied Mandarin Chinese. He enjoyed sharing Sunday meals with his mom Susan and his best friend/stepdad Nix. He loved his brother Matthew and extended family immensely. Jack was generous, exhibited a good sense of humor, sported a sweet (and sometimes mischievous) smile, and had a twinkle in his eye. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Jack is survived by his mother Susan Thompson Nix and stepfather Ken Nix, father Ken Breckenridge and stepmother Nancy, brother Matthew Breckenridge (and wife Christina), half-brothers Kenneth Casey Breckenridge and Sam Breckenridge, grandfather Loyd Paul Thompson Jr., stepbrother Stephen Nix along with a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and colleagues. He was predeceased by his grandparents Alice Ann and Jerry Breckenridge and Shirley Rood Thompson.
The family will hold a private celebration of life. Memorials can be given to the Garland County Public Library.
