Known to many as Bill or J.W. James William Bishop passed away at home on June 23rd in Hot Springs. He is predeceased by his beloved wife Loretta, his mother Ruth Weaver, Stepfather Don Weaver, his father William Henry Bishop, and his step son Greg Norman.
Bill was born 8/11/1938 in Dallas, Texas to Ruth and Bill Bishop. Although his first love was horses he became an exceptional welder doing things that others couldn’t do. He lead an exciting life hauling and working horses, rodeo, working oil rigs, and building roller coasters.
Bill loved is family and kept an extensive family history. His wife Loretta was the love of his life and he missed her every day after she passed in 2017.
Bill is survived by his son James William Bishop Jr. and his wife Joy, daughter Kathleen Bishop, grandsons Keith Gettys and his wife Sherry, James William Bishop the 3rd, Sumner Young, daughter in law Deneen Kassaw Norman, and cousins Julie Gentry, Roger Armstrong, and a host of cousins and friends.
The family would like to deeply thank the family of Aubree and Larry Clark for their care and companionship.
