

James Gordon Davis, Jr., 80, passed away peacefully on December 4, 2025. Born on October 1, 1945, in Stephens, Arkansas, he was the son of James Gordon Davis and Mildred Hardister Davis.
Gordon grew up with a deep appreciation for learning and the arts. A graduate of Central High School, he went on to attend the University of Arkansas, where he completed his college education before answering the call to serve his country. He spent four years in the United States Navy and served in the Vietnam War.
After his military service, Gordon began a long and dedicated career with the United States Postal Service. His kindness earned him the respect of colleagues and neighbors alike. Following retirement, he made his home in Hot Springs, where he embraced a peaceful and fulfilling life.
Gordon was a man of many passions. A devoted lover of literature, he found joy in reading and reflection. He expressed himself through painting, drawing, nurtured beauty in his gardens, and baking. Known for his generous heart, gentle spirit, and unwavering kindness, he left a lasting impression on everyone he met.
Gordon is survived by his beloved sister, Lou Skeen, and her husband, Mack; his nephew, John Kelly, and wife, Ashley; his niece Ashley Eaton and her husband, Scott; his great-nephew, Austin; his great-nieces, Emma and Elli. His family brought him immense joy, and he treasured every moment spent with them.
Gordon will be remembered for his warmth, wisdom, humility, and the quiet generosity that defined his life.
