Jason “Spot” Perdieu, a minister of the gospel of Jesus was suddenly Promoted to Glory early in the morning on March 30, 2026 at the age of 51. He was a native of Lynchburg, VA but was appointed by God to serve across the southern United States through his ministry with The Salvation Army, and at his time of promotion was serving in Hot Springs, AR.
He graduated from E.C. Glass High School in 1993 and received an Associates Degree and Ordination from the Evangeline Booth College as a member of the Prayer Warriors session, class of 2010. As a born-and-raised Virginian, he was a die-hard fan of the Virginia Cavaliers “Wahoowa!” and was an avid sports fan “How ‘bout them Cowboys!”
Jason was deeply impacted by Camp Happyland, a summer camp operated by The Salvation Army where he was a camper, staff member, and program staff member. His family played a crucial role in establishing Camp Happyland and he carried on their legacy.
He was known for his dedication to God, and love for people. All who interacted with and knew Jason were impacted by his deep love for the Lord, his love for his family, his vibrant sense of humor, and his absolute transparency. He served for over 15 years and held the rank of Major in The Salvation Army, meeting needs and preaching the gospel in church settings, in service, and in his daily life.
Jason is preceded in death by his father, David Lee Perdieu and his first “fur baby” Dascher.
He is survived by his parents Janet and Richard Cunningham, his brother Steven and sister-in-law Katie, his niece “Princess” Savannah, his brother Chip Cunningham and sister-in-law Ali, his sister Lauren Baddar and brother-in-law Adrian, nieces Eliza and Abby and nephews Charlie, Teddy and Bryce.
He also leaves behind his beloved wife and best friend, Rachel Perdieu and three “babies,” his dogs, Prancer, Penny and Lady.
To sum up the life of Jason in a few paragraphs is impossible. He was, as his friends would say, the “life of the party,” a sensitive and compassionate friend, a dedicated leader, a loving son, brother, and uncle, and a wonderfully loving husband.
He will be truly missed and leave an unimaginable vacancy in the lives of those who loved him.
Jason, we love you, more!
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to establish a “Jason Perdieu Camp Scholarship” fund to provide an opportunity for future generations to be influenced by the same life changing experience that shaped Jason’s life forever.

The first in Hot Springs, Arkansas on April 8, 2026, 6:00 PM at The First Church of the Nazarene, 3804 Central Avenue, Hot Springs, AR 71913
