

Jeanette Mary Elizabeth Mace, 84 of Hot Springs, passed away January 4th, 2015. She was born May 6th, 1930 in Brooklyn, New York to the late Simon and Mary Doion Durant. Jeanette loved her family and many friends at Crown Trace, and St. John’s Catholic Church. She had a special place in her heart for St. John’s School, where she worked for over 25 years. She enjoyed volunteering at St. Joseph and Mercy Hospital, having served there for over ten years. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Kirby Lee Mace; two sisters, Mary Siverson (Marvin), and Genevieve Chinn; and her brother, Anslem Dorant (Josey). Cherishing her memory are her son, Raymond W. Mace (Lori); brother, Martin Dorant (Rose); two grandchildren, Louis Kirby Mace (Chelsea), and Jennifer Elizabeth Mace Huddleston (Steve); one great-grandson, Samuel William Mace; brother-in-law, Raymond Dee Mace(Ola); many nieces, nephews; and adopted sister, Mel Wilson. The Rosary service will be 6:00 PM, Wednesday, January 7th, 2015 in the chapel of Gross Funeral Home. Visitation will follow from 6:30 until 8:00 PM. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 AM, Thursday, January 8th, 2015 at her church, The Catholic Church of St. John the Baptist-Hot Springs, with Father James P. West officiating. Burial will be at 1:00 PM, at Crestview Cemetery under the direction of Gross Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in her memory to St. John’s Catholic School.
