It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Judy Heikes Kelly on December 27, 2023. Born on April 12, 1944, in Massachusetts, Judy's spirited journey through life took her from the East Coast to the heartlands of Kansas, finally settling in Hot Springs, Arkansas, for the last two decades.
Judy's life was marked by her dedication to family and an impressive array of careers. She raised three children, Kristi, David, and Greg, with her late husband, Robert Heikes. Judy later found love again and married Gary Kelly in 2013. Her professional life was as varied as it was accomplished, working in medical technology, managing a commercial sheep and goat farm, and serving as a social worker. She also earned a bachelor's degree in mid-life, entered real estate, and was a proud representative of Chenal Properties as office manager for the Red Oak Ridge development in her latter years.
Judy's relentless drive never saw her retiring. Her commitment extended beyond her professional achievements to her spiritual life, being an active member of the Bahai Faith. Judy's legacy is one of boundless love, especially for her family, for whom she was immensely proud, including her cherished grandchildren.
As we bid farewell to Judy, we invite friends and family to a remembrance and visitation on Friday, December 29, from 6-8 pm at Gross Funeral Home, 120 Wrights St, Hot Springs, Arkansas. Judy will be laid to rest in Crestview Memorial Cemetery Prayer Garden in Garland County, Arkansas.
Judy is survived by her loving husband, Gary Kelly; children, Kristi Heikes, David Heikes, and Greg Heikes; grandchildren Kaitlin, Aaron, Elaina and Daniel, and a community of friends and family touched by her vibrant spirit. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering spirit.
