

Kathleen Duncan, 91, of Hot Springs, Arkansas, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, February 16, 2025, surrounded by her family and loved ones at her home. She was born on March 22, 1933, in Donaldson, Arkansas, to the late Powell and Mary Schales.
Kathleen was full of love and life. She enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and numerous friends. She loved to fish, and her favorite story to share about fishing is when she caught a fish several times larger than her husband’s. She loved caring for others, whether at Lakeside Primary School, where she impacted the lives of many children, or wherever she found someone in need. She loved her Lord and Savior and enjoyed going on trips and outings with the senior group at Second Baptist Church in Hot Springs.
Kathleen is preceded in death by her parents; her three sisters and two brothers; her husband James Duncan; and her granddaughter Sherri Breashears.
She is survived by her children James and Sharlene (Duncan) Breashears, Jimmy and Cindy Duncan, Sandy Duncan, and Stephen and Mary French; grandchildren Brian and Abra Hickerson, Rachel Renea Breashears, Alison Hall, Daniel Connor, Zachary French, Andrew French, Nic French and Angelica Parker, and Jeremy Duncan; great grandchildren Jonathan and Samantha Shattuck, Bryanna Overton, Grayson Langston, Mitchell and Becca Outler, Levi and Liz Cross, John and Olivia Hickerson, Samuel Hickerson, Rebekah Hickerson, Hunter French, and Liam Ellis; great-great grandchildren Wade Shattuck, Mason Shattuck, Amelia Outler, Magnolia Outler, Declan Outler, and Isaac Cross. She is also survived by Tommy and Marlene Hodges, Gary and Linda Duncan, numerous nieces and nephews, and a great number of cherished loved ones.
Pallbearers include: Zachary French, Brian Hickerson, Jimmy Duncan, Andrew French, Ty Duncan, Nic French, Billy Tompkins, and Jonathan Shattuck.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. Lefler and the staff at the Family Medicine Clinic in Hot Springs for their years of great care, Nancy Thornbrue her great friend and sister, Erin Walters for her love and dedication, and Hospice Home Care for their excellent care.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025, from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Gross Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow on Sunday, February 23, 2025, to begin at 2:00 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Oak Bower Cemetery in Bismarck, Arkansas, following the service.
