

Loyola Marie (Petersen) Stuart of Hot Springs passed away on March 2, 2025, at home with her family by her side. Loy was born in Oklahoma City, OK to Martha Petersen Ketchum and Horace Ketchum on February 18, 1931. She is predeceased by her husband and one true love, Lynn William Stuart, to whom she had been married for over 55 years, her mother Martha and stepfather James Seahorn.
Loy attended Saint John’s Catholic School and was a lifelong member of Saint John’s Catholic Church. A 1948 graduate of Hot Springs High School, she was an avid bridge player and loved to read books extensively.
She is survived by her three children; son and caregiver Rodney Stuart of Little Rock, Daughter Judith Stuart Berry and her husband John of Little Rock, and son Greg Stuart of Sulphur, LA; her three grandchildren Sean Berry and his wife Corinne of Reston, VA, Ashley Berry of Charlotte, NC, and Sydney Stuart of Sulphur, LA; her two great grandchildren Connor Berry and Payton Berry of Reston, VA.
Pallbearers will be Rodney Stuart, Greg Stuart, John Berry, Sean Berry, Richard Smith and Jack Yeager.
Rosary and Visitation will be at Gross Funeral Home on Thursday March 6th from 5:30-7. Requiem mass will be held at Saint John’s Catholic Church on Friday March 7th at 10 am with Father George Sanders officiating. Burial will be at Crestview Cemetery following the mass. Arrangements are with Gross Funeral Home.
The Family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to Cheryl Murphy, Tiffany Carpenter (RN) and Dana Crutchfield (CNA) of Arkansas Hospice along with all employees and volunteers of The Caring Place, especially Nina Alter (director) and special Caring Place friends Lynn and Maria.
