Lucy Nioma Scroggins

Lucy Nioma Scroggins (Taylor), age 92, of Hot Springs, Arkansas passed away on Friday, January 10, 2025.

She is preceded in death by her husband Donald Scroggins, sons Phillip Eric Scroggins and Galic Eron Scroggins, brothers Herbert, Ephraim and Seth, sisters Clara, Evelyn, and Nettie, and parents Manuel and Lucy Taylor. Lucy is survived by daughter Donna Lou Scroggins Thomas (Joseph), daughter-in-law Elizabeth Oxley Scroggins (Phillip), grandsons Donald Beatty Thomas and Eric Walker Scroggins and numerous nephews and nieces.

Lucy was born in Rushing, Arkansas on March 8, 1932, to Manuel and Lucy Rushing Taylor. She lived most of her life in Hot Springs where she was a member of the First Baptist Church. Lucy was a professional woman, serving as the Hot Springs Planning Commissioner until her retirement in 1997. She will be remembered as a loving mother and grandmother as well as for her fondness for her hometown of Hot Springs.

A visitation for Lucy will be held Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Gross Funeral Home, 120 Wrights St, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71913.

A memorial service will occur Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 11:00 AM to 11:30 AM, 120 Wrights St, Hot Springs, Arkansas 71913.

A graveside service will occur Wednesday, January 22, 2025 from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM at Crestview Memorial Park, 3077 E Grand Service Road, Hot Springs, AR 71901.
