With every encounter, Luke aimed to brighten other people’s lives. He had a contagious smile and a wonderful sense of humor. Never taking himself too seriously, Luke would always go the extra mile to make people laugh. Through his humor, he revealed a rich imagination and inventiveness. He was known for coming up with profoundly funny and elaborate stories on the fly. He told these stories so often that his family started calling them “windys.” They’d say, “Are you telling a windy again?” And Luke being Luke, he would always maintain that his windys were, in fact, nonfiction. He was the life of the party.
Luke found great joy in the world around him. He loved a wide range of music, with everything from country to hip-hop blaring in his truck or on his speaker at home. He also connected with the quieter things in life and spent lots of time in the outdoors. Above all else, Luke dedicated himself to his relationships with friends and family.
His tremendous kindness extended to everyone. Even as a child, Luke felt a calling to help those in need. His family remembers a time when Luke, at age 5, was resisting cleaning up his toys and Janna told him that if he did not pick them up, they would be donated. At this, Luke quickly began to gather the toys so they could be donated. It is no surprise that he grew up to be the kind of person who would routinely give his last dollar away and would drop everything to help his friends. As an organ donor, his unconditional generosity lives on.
Luke felt everything deeply, loved fiercely, was very protective, and endlessly loyal. He will be remembered for his beautiful spirit, and for his sweet southern drawl that made you love him even more. He was loved dearly by many and will be missed tremendously.
Luke is preceded in death by his grandparents Charlotte and Dwight Whitworth.
Survivors include his father Bradley Tyler Jr., mother Janna Tyler, brother Landen Tyler all of Hot Springs, Ar.; grandparents Brad and Gina Tyler of Talala, OK, Marty and Carol Pope of Claremore, OK, Pat and JoAnn Stone of Chelsea, OK; Aunts and Uncles Jason and Melissa Tyler of Chelsea, OK, Julie Whitworth from Norman, OK, Katy and Eric Mizer of Oologah, OK, and Adam and Rachel Tyler of Tulsa, OK; chosen family members Will Wilcox, Teddy and Stephanie Patin, Shane Patin, Quatro and Kristie Brinlee; and many cousins and friends to cherish his memory.
There will be a celebration of life held at the Barn at Glazypeau Farms starting at 3:00 pm on Thursday October 12, 2023.
