

She was born on October 10, 1981 in Hot Springs, Arkansas. Melanie attended Lake Hamilton Schools, graduating in 2000. She was the president of her senior class and graduated with high honors.
She attended and graduated from the University of California at San Diego where she was granted a degree in Biochemistry. She next attended Regis College in Denver, Colorado earning a BS degree in Nursing. She attended Texas Christian University School of Nursing from which she received a Master of Science in Nurse Anesthesia. After graduating, she was employed as a nurse anesthetist in the state of Texas.
Melanie is survived by her father, Dr. Richard Braley, MD; mother, Dr. Janet Braley; sister, Kathleen Braley, all of Hot Springs; uncles, Dr. Scott Braley, MD (Amy), and Richard Forney; aunt, Susan Stinson (Tom); and her cousins Avery, Logan, Blake, and Shaquille.
Melanie had a vibrant, engaging personality. She was a loving daughter and sister devoted to family and friends; and truly loved her work. She was valued and respected by her medical colleagues and adored by many of her patients. She enjoyed outdoor activities including running, hiking, snow-skiing and boating on Lake Ouachita when she was in Hot Springs.
In lieu of flowers the family request that memorials be made to First Baptist Church- All-in Giving Campaign or “Kids Across America”, 2036 Timberlake Rd, Branson, Missouri, 65616.
