Rebecca Jean (Gross) Green, 92, of Hot Springs, AR earned her angel wings on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. She was born in Yell County (Cardon Bottoms), AR on November 17, 1932 to the late Lester and Maxie Gross.
Rebecca was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, Shirley Green.
Rebecca made her decision to follow Christ as a young teenager and was of the Assembly of God faith until after Shirley’s death. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church Hot Springs for the last 25 years.
Over the years, she participated in countless bible studies including Bible Study Fellowship. She loved to study the word with like believers!
Rebecca touched many people’s lives wherever she went with her fun loving, sassy and friendly ways. To know her was to love her! She loved to entertain friends and family. She was known for her home cooking, especially her cornbread dressing, chocolate gravy and salsa.
Rebecca had various jobs throughout her life including: grocery clerk and factory worker (Timex watches and bombs!). But she discovered her true calling as a caregiver to preschool children. She welcomed countless children into her home where she loved and cared for them and their families as her own! As adults many still took the time from their busy lives to stop in for a snack and a visit with “Miss Becky”.
Her favorite job was being a mom, grandmother and great grandmother. Her children called her momma, her “grands” called her De-De and the staff of Quapaw Nursing and Rehabilitation Care called her Granny!
Rebecca was blessed to reside at Quapaw Nursing and Rehab Center, where she was cared for and loved on for the last five years of her life. They made these last years of her life fun and secure. She loved the staff so much!
Rebecca is survived by her children, Bronda Perry (Bill) and Steven Green (Vicki); three grandchildren Tim Perry (Heather)of Alpharetta, GA, Amber Anderson (Michael)of Surprise, AZ and Doug Green (Loretta) of Little Rock, AR; great grandchildren Layla and Josey Anderson, Walker and Charlotte Perry and Arlen Cooper; brother Rev. Robert Gross; as well as a host of brother and sister in laws, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Graveside services and internment will be held, 1:00 pm, Monday, March 10, 2025 at Crestview Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Steven Green, Bill Perry, Tim Perry, Amber Anderson, and Doug Green.
Honorary pallbearers are the Nurses, CNA’s, and support staff of Quapaw Nursing and Rehab Center.
